ipo's

can one person apply two applications in same IPO, one as an INDIVIDUAL and another as an KARTA of HUF firm.ofcourse PAN will be different in both.please reply all and share ur experierences in same regard.

Yes both can apply. All the IPO applications are sorted based on the following criteria.
1. PAN
2. Date of Birth/Trust creation
3. Date+time of IPO Application made.

Then they detect the duplicates based on #1 and #2 and delete them.

For your individual and HUF the PAN`s are different. So you can put in 2 applications.

You guys will wonder on why they have date of Birth as a criteria. In the past, we could do trading on a Minor name(son/doughter). The Tax department wanted parents PAN for taxation purposes. So exchanges/demat providers allowed Parents PAN and Minor`s date of Birth. I have heard that the logic has not changed as such accounts are still operational. So here the parent can have his/her own demat acct and also have one demat acct for their kid. So they could apply for 2 IPO application under the same PAN. Remember that still the demat owner is different(parent and minor).
